Barb de la Sablonnière, has been described as a dynamic and energetic speaker with over 20 years experience in sales and marketing.   She enthusiastically shares her passion for life and business through information, exercises, interaction, and connecting relationships.  Barb shares personal experiences "peppered" with humour in her training and her speaking.  Two tools to make the learning "stick", while having fun.

Working with both public and private sectors she brings an understanding to her training that is of interest to small business as well as large corporations and to individuals.   Whether speaking or training, she is not afraid to laugh at herself; her real-life examples will have you laughing till you cry as she connects with you in a very special way.

Her entrepreneurial spirit and her philosophy in regards to relationship marketing bring requests for training programs across Canada, and find her speaking at conventions, conferences and tradeshows.

Networking with Attitude!
Sample Outline

More than "Schmoozing!"

Are the contacts in your network file working for you, or are you a business card collector?

Networking is defined as a group of co-operating individuals.  It is not defined as a large number of contacts made over a short period of time!

Our verbal conversation accounts for only 7% of our communication - What are you really saying?

Do you have a purpose?  A strategy?  A plan?  What are those elusive little tricks that will help build a relationship in 5 minutes or less?

How do you break into a "group" or break out of a conversation and move on?

What do you do with all those business cards, once you have collected them?

Learn how to literally "jump" out of your comfort zone and really have fun networking!

Body Language
What is really going on!

Body Language - What is really going on! Sample Outline

You Don't Get a Second Chance
to Make a Good First Impression!

If the words I speak are only 7% of what people hear, what am I saying?  What is their impression of me?  Am I confident?  Arrogant?   Fearful?  Do they see trust?  Knowledge?  Learn to see yourself and others without the "mask".

Being able to read others gives us a competitive edge.  Being able to read others helps us to listen better and to communicate more effectively.  Watch for the barriers we create and that others put before us.  Learn how to deal with those barriers and break down the walls.

Making a presentation?  Learn to watch "your room"!  Working in retail?  Learn to pick out the different personalities and communicate a message specific to their needs.   In sales?   Learn how to read your potential buyer and know when to stop, when to listen, when to close, and when to celebrate.

This Program is so much FUN!   Learn to laugh at yourself while you are laughing at Barb!  Great for your business relationships or your personal relationships.

You may even find a self you didn't know you had!

  • What is non-verbal communication
  • Examples shown of what we say
  • Examples shown of what others are saying
  • How does non-verbal communication affect my relationships?
  • Using non-verbal communication to shorten the relationship building process
  • Specific examples
  • Open discussion
  • Laughs and fun along the way

Time frame for training program:
Tailored to a 4-6 hour program

Time frame for speaking:
#1 best topic for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or in between

This is motivational, healing, and just outright fun!  If laughter is the best medicine - this is preventative and curative!   All that and educational!
